Post 3: My Future Job

Hello classmates and professor, today I have to talk about my expectations regarding my future employment.

Last year this topic was very important for me, because I was studying law and I did not know if I really wanted to stay in that career. If I decided that I didn’t want to continuo this career, I had to think and decide what else to study.  Were difficult moments, especially because the social pressure that meant a career changes. I was very frustrated.

Finally, not very sure about my decision, I started studying Sociology. I think nobody really knows what the work of a sociologist, so I started my year with considerable uncertainty and without too many expectations.
I imagine my future job a little boring, indoor, always within an office. In summary: a very monotonous job.

I hope that my future won’t be like this, and I would like to include things that I like at work, like literature, art, music, some psychology, anthropology, etc. I am a very active person and I won’t to stay the rest of my life locked reading boring books. I would like to investigate topics that interest me, traveling, meeting different societies, do field work, including other disciplines within my studies.

That’s all! See you

Blog Post Nº 7: THEMED POST 4: HOBBIES

Hi!
Today I am going to write about hobbies. But as I have a draft of a last class about sports and extracurricular activities (I never used it because I had the wrong topic), I will use the writing for this post.
I chose this theme because I have always enrolled in as many extracurricular activities I could. When I started school I got to Italian dance lessons, at the same time I started doing gymnastics classes. I practicing Italian dance lasted only one year and four years in gymnastics. After that I enrolled in theater classes, but because we were very few registered, after 2 years the workshop ceased to exist. Then I started playing volleyball, but after 2 years I get bored of this sport and I started something new and more dynamic: artistic roller-skating.

Because at that time I did not want to stop doing some physical activity, I began playing football in the school. I had a great time practicing that sport.
I lasted two years playing football, and I went to a couple of school sports Olympics. I was never good in this sport, but I enjoyed a lot with my friends and make advantage of these sports outings.

And now¿?  When I started college I became a sedentary person. One of my hobbies is reading literature; I like going to the cinema very much (at least once a month), I like going to the GAM to see plays, circus and art exhibitions. Is too hipster what I'm saying?

Post 7: HOW GREEN ARE YOU?

This Friday I’m going to write about pollution and environmentally friendly practices to avoid this phenomenon.

I think the most of people  are informed about of the seriousness of the matter and are taking measures to help reduce their “carbon footprint”. Many people know this problem due to non-governmental organizations work that are dedicated to disseminating information; due to government’s campaigns, news and features of TV programmes, etc.

For my part, I consider myself a responsible person but not very committed to the cause, in fact, I have never joined or supported eco-organisations. I don’t know why, but it never interested me so much to dedicate myself seriously, maybe because I had no friends or someone could stimulate me to do it.

However, since last year I started recycling my garbage in Santiago because I started living near the Faculty of Economics and Business where there are recycling bins to the garbage. Sometimes, I use my bicycle, but only for trips within the burrogh.

The rest of the times I use public transport; neither me or my family are accustomed to using the car. Moreover, I use my clothes and technological objects until they stop working or break, in that sense I’m not very consumerist. At the moment, I would like to start using my bike to go everywhere, have more plants and reduce operating time lights and tech gadgets, reduce my shower time, etc.

Bumbumbummmm!

Hello classmates and professor:

Today I am going to talk about something very polemic: I will discuss the case of the bomb (chan chan). If you do not know about this event, this Monday (8th) a homemade bomb exploded in the subway, at Tobalaba station to be specific, destroying part of the place and leaving many innocent people injured. The recurring question throughout is: Who planted the bomb?                                                                                                                                                                                                      Ok, I have to be honest: I really don’t know about this theme. I readed a lot and on Internet and papers and I discuss it with my friends, family and nearby but I am too incredulous and skeptical about theories that have emerged.

The culprit was an anarchist group? A fraction of the student movement was? I do not think so. But at the same time it seems strange to think that the government was responsible for creating this atmosphere of panic and the political instability reflected in public opinion, that not suit them.

Other reviews claim that ultra right-wing groups were to blame for the explosion because they are looking mistrust the reforms that are taking place in the country today, reforms that contradict their political objectives.                                                                                                                    This seems a bit iffy; I think it is a too risky strategy, although it has already happened before, in the years before the coup was a frequent practice of the right-wing to destabilize the government of Allende.

Post N°2 FRONTERA:

Hello boys and girls:

Today, like every Friday I'm forced (yes, forced) to publish a post (just kidding).
This time, the theme of my article is about a concert, or rather musical festival: Frontera
I went to this festival on November 9th last year. The show was held in “Club Hípico”, that is localted near “Parque O’Higgins” metro station.
The most important bands invited were Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Cultura Profética, Chico Trujillo and Jorge Gonzalez. The first is an Argentinean band, that plays ska and rock music. The secod band is originally from Puerto Rico and plays reggae. The others are Chilean bands and I’m sure you know them.
In the festival there were three stages, and each had a band playing, then there was always somewhere to go without getting bored. It was amazing, the place was full of people, singers and musicians!  We had fun during the day but at night we were very hungry and there was a terrible cold that prevented us from enjoying the latest concerts.
I went to the Frontera Festival with a dear cousin, Fernanda (who was with a friend) and two great friends, Martín and Ricardo. Oh, and I was also at the festival my boyfriend and other acquaintances.

Free Post 2

In this post we can chose the theme we're going to write about, so I am going to chose writing about something I like very much. I'm talking about a serie I just finished watching: Prófugos.
 .                                                                                                                                                        .
Prófugos is a chilean series produced by Fabula Producciones and Efe3 and it is broad cast to Chile and America by HBO Latin America.
 .                                                                                                                                                        .
I started watching this serie in June and within a week I had already seen both seasons.  I loved the episodes because the best actors and actresses of Chile appear, such as Luis Gnecco, Blanca Lewine, Benjamín Vicuña, Francisco Reyes. Also, in each episode you can appreciate landscapes from different parts of Chile, for example, Punta Arenas, Atacama Desert, Valparaíso, Santiago.
.                                                                                                                                                        .
Moreover, the background music heard in the serie is Chilean, whose principal singers are Camila Moreno and Manuel Garcia.
.                                                                                                                                                        .
it's a really entertaining and dynamic series. In each scene amazing and unexpected shots and things happen. Drugs, politics, weapons, sex, murders: all in these episodes.
I hope I had convinced you to view this amazing series.
.                                                                                                                                                        .

Good Bye!

Post 1- A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT

If I had to choose one of the different cities of the world to visit I would choose France. To be honest I don’t know very much about that country, I only know a few things that I’ve learned in History class and history books, mostly about the French Revolution that impact all the Earth. Moreover, I know some importants cities like Paris (bacause films, photos, books), Versalles (because the Treaty), Avignon (because the song) and Lyon (because my cousin travelled there).

If I could go to France, I would like to know the cities I named, and I would like to walking for hours around the streets and alleys, visiting churches, museums and parks of these beautiful cities.

I would go to France as a tourist, because I can’t speak french. I would not go there to work, live or study unless it was a real necessity. I would prefer to live in Italy or Spain if I could.

See you in the next post
